SUBSTANCE: method of measuring thickness of a block of ice involves obtaining images of the block of ice using devices, analysing and interpreting the images, determining thickness of the block of ice via office processing of the images of the block of ice, where the image of the block of ice is obtained by probing ice surfaces with high-frequency acoustic waves, where continuous oscillation is amplitude-modulated by a section of a low-frequency signal, and the images are interpreted by forming a single set of coordinates of points and height values of each block of ice, obtained from the imaging devices, where the single set of coordinates and height values of the block of ice undergoes Delaunay triangulation.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring thickness of a block of ice.
