SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of research equipment for determining the physical and mechanical characteristics of agricultural materials, in particular, grain-and-straw mixtures. The pneumatic classifier of grain-and-straw mixtures includes a receiving storage hopper for the mixture, a dispenser for feeding the mixture, a fan, and sample collectors for collecting fractions. The pneumatic classifier is equipped with air flow velocity sensors, one of which is fixed at the outlet of the fan bell, and the others on wire strings fixed above the sample collectors, three for each of them. The strings are fixed on racks located around the perimeter of the common frame and are covered with vertical transparent curtains at the ends. The overall frame is installed with the ability to move back and forth. The receiving storage hopper is located above the fan, installed with the possibility of changing the angle of inclination of the air flow and shifting back relative to the storage hopper. The width of the output window of the fan bell is equal to the width of the receiving storage hopper.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of determining such parameters of the pile as the quantitative content and mass of all the components of the pile, the parameters of the trajectories of their movement, the speed of soaring, etc. at different feeds of the pile and the initial air velocity at the fan outlet.
