FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing hardened workpieces of fasteners made of stainless austenitic steel. The method includes pre-quenching, plastic deformation by radial forging at room temperature to obtain a workpiece of a fastener and subsequent heat treatment. Pre-quenching is carried out at 1050°C, plastic deformation is carried out with a degree of deformation of 85-90% to ensure a given diameter of the workpiece of the fastener in the form of a pin, and as a subsequent heat treatment, annealing is carried out at 400-500°C for 1-2 hours, followed by cooling in air to obtain a gradient structure of the workpiece of the fastener.
EFFECT: reducing the number of operations of strengthening the material of the workpieces.
