SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the tobacco industry, namely to an aerosol-generating system and a holder used in an aerosol-generating system. The aerosol-generating system comprises a holder configured to generate aerosol by heating an inserted cigarette when the cigarette is inserted into the holder. The aerosol-generating system comprises a support comprising an interior space for placing the holder. The holder can be inclined with the interior space so that a cigarette can be inserted into the holder when the holder is placed in the interior space. The holder can cumulatively monitor the smoking sequence in a first state wherein the holder is inclined in the support and in a second state wherein the holder is detached from the support, and can determine if the cumulatively monitored smoking sequence complies with the condition of smoking restriction. Also disclosed is a holder used in an aerosol-generating system.

EFFECT: ensured is implementation of continuous control of operation of the holder in any conditions.
