SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for generating an aerosol by heating a material capable of generating an aerosol in a cigarette. The aerosol-generating system comprises: a holder configured to include a first inner space whereto a cigarette is inserted and to generate an aerosol by heating the cigarette; and a stand containing a second inner space whereto the holder can be inserted. The holder can therein be inserted into the second inner space of the stand and then can be inclined in order to form an aerosol. The inclined holder is therein configured to generate an aerosol using the energy received from the accumulator of the stand without separating the holder from the stand.

EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of generating an aerosol in any position of the holder and the ensured control of the operation of the holder.
