FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. A method of treating a seed comprises applying to a seed a seed treatment composition comprising: (A) an aqueous dispersion of polyesteric polyurethane; and (B) one or more insecticides, fungicides, nematicides and/or pesticides, while (1) the aqueous polyurethane dispersion forms a film exhibiting: (a) microhardness from 4 to 34 N/mm2; (b) Tg from -79°C to -4°C, (c) percent elongation from 44 to 300, and (d) tensile strength from 2500 psi (17.2 MPa) to 5600 psi (38.6 MPa), and (2) the seed includes corn seed, sorghum seed, oat seed, rye seed, barley seed, soybean seed, vegetable seed, wheat seed, sugar beet seed, rice, sunflower seed, lettuce seed, and/or spinach seed.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain treated seeds that are at least partially destroyed by moisture in the soil.
