FIELD: measuring particle size apparatus.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for measuring particle size distribution and a method for measuring the particle size distribution of a starting material for a blast furnace or other similar device. Apparatus for measuring particle size distribution of a starting material containing large particles and sticky powder adhered to large particles comprises a device for measuring large particles configured to obtain information indicating the size distribution of large particles; a device for measuring sticky powder, configured to obtain information indicating a particle size distribution of the sticky powder; and a computing device configured to calculate the particle size distribution of the starting material, the computing device comprising a large particle size distribution calculating module configured to calculate the size distribution of large particles based on information indicating the size distribution of large particles obtained by said device for measuring large particles, a tacky powder particle size distribution calculating unit, configured to calculate a tacky powder particle size distribution based on information indicating a tacky powder particle size distribution obtained by said tacky powder measuring device, and a raw material particle size distribution calculating unit, configured to calculate a raw material particle size distribution based on the coarse particle size distribution calculated by the coarse particle size distribution calculating unit and based on the tacky powder particle size distribution calculated by the coarse powder particle size distribution calculating unit.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of measuring the size distribution of small particles adhered to large particles of the starting material.
