SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for efficient blowing of polymer particles in a gas-phase fluidized bed reactor. The method includes polymerizing olefinic monomers and optionally comonomers in a first reactor vessel to form a crude product stream containing polymerized solids, unreacted monomer, and optionally comonomer, the polymerized solid particles containing olefinic polymer, VOCs and catalyst system, bringing polymerized solid particles into contact with a catalytic poison selected from carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, water, alcohols, amines, or mixtures thereof, thus forming a passivated stream, while deactivating the catalytic system, maintaining the passivated stream in a mixed state in the second reactor and bringing the passivated stream in the second reactor into contact with a circulating gas containing unreacted monomer present in an amount from 50.0 to 99.5 wt % of the total mass of the circulating gas, during stay, thus reducing the concentration of VOCs in the polymerized solid particles by at least 10% of the mass compared to the level upstream of the second reactor, thus forming a stream of purified olefinic polymer solid particles.

EFFECT: blowing methods provide improved removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) generated during polymer production.
