FIELD: polymerization catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides a method for temporary and reversible passivation of active matallocene catalytic system, which method is accomplished by contacting this catalytic system with unsaturated hydrocarbon selected from group consisting of C4-C14-alkines, C4-C14-alkenes, and polycyclic alkenes containing non- reactive β-hydrogen. Also proposed is method of polymerization of C2-C14-olefins comprising (i) a step wherein above-mentioned passivated catalytic system is supplied in amount of about 1 to about 5 equivalents per 1 equivalent zirconium in common with at least one C2-C14-olefin to polymerization reactor, (ii) a step wherein above-mentioned catalytic system is dispersed in polymerization medium, and (iii) catalytic system reactivation step.
EFFECT: enabled reduction of catalytic system activity to a level, which allows supplying the system to reactor in contact with olefin monomer and properly dispersing catalyst in polymer bed within reactor until catalyst is reactivated.
