FIELD: cable insulation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions for an insulating layer on a wire or a cable. A wire or a cable containing a conductor coated with an insulating composition is proposed. The specified insulating composition contains i) a polyethylene copolymer having a melting temperature of 105°С or less, and ii) a sterically hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) containing at least one 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl group present in an amount of 0.5 to 1.5 wt. %, does not contain mercaptobenzimidazole zinc salt and forms a coating around the conductor with a thickness of 0.1-0.4 mm.
EFFECT: formation of a thin-walled coating with improved thermal aging indicators while reducing the amount of sulfur-containing antioxidants.
