SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of paper and cardboard. A water-soluble polymer product containing amphoteric polyacrylamide, which has neutral or cationic total charge at pH of 7, middle-weight molecular weight of 2,500,000-18,000,000 g/mole and total ionic content of 4-28 mol.%, is used to regulate the formation of sediments caused by hydrophobic substances in the production of paper or cardboard, when fiber canvas is formed of an aqueous fiber suspension.
EFFECT: reduction in the formation of sediments caused by hydrophobic substances in the production of paper and cardboard and improvement in the fixation of hydrophobic substances on fibers are provided.
