FIELD: rockets/space.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the rocket and space field and is intended for use in the refinement, operation and modernization of liquid-propellant rocket engines (LRE). The method is based on the use of the parameters of the liquid-propellant engine and the mathematical model of the engine, measured during the fire test, presented in the form of a system of equations describing the processes in a normally functioning engine. To localize the malfunction, the values of the set of measured parameters are used, with the help of which the set of equations is sequentially excluded from the original system of equations, the shortened systems of equations are solved, the solution is substituted into the excluded equations and the discrepancy between the left and right sides of each of the excluded equations is monitored, and if one or more deviations come out beyond the limits of the specified tolerances, then a decision is made that the malfunction is contained in one or more structural elements or the engine circuit described by these equations, and a signal is generated for the control system to turn off the engine or switch to a gentle operation mode.
EFFECT: technical result is to provide the possibility of carrying out the procedure for localizing a malfunction in the liquid-propellant engine in real time and increasing the efficiency of generating a signal to the engine operating modes control units about turning it off or switching to a gentle operating mode.
