FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for sealing capacity testing of hydraulic cylinders. By moving the rod of the tested hydraulic cylinder, an air pressure drop is created. The air pressure in the low pressure cavity, the volume of air displaced by the moving piston from the high pressure cavity, and the volume of air entering the low pressure cavity while the rod is not moving, are measured. Additionally, the pressure, humidity and temperature of the air at the test site are monitored. Air leakage through the seals is determined by the measured parameters. The air pressure in the cavities of the hydraulic cylinder therein is set as not exceeding 0.09 MPa, and the speed of movement of the rod is maintained in the range of 0.05 to 3 m/s, monitored by a speedometer installed on the body of the hydraulic cylinder.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of test results.
