FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: reference chamber is placed in vessel to be checked. Compressed air is fed into said vessel with reference chamber electric valves open. When steady-stage test pressure in reference chamber in checked vessel is reached, electric valves are closed to register pressure difference variation in time to conclude about tightness of vessel being checked.
EFFECT: reduced time of checking large-volume vessels for tightness.
