SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydrometallurgy of lithium, in particular to the sorption separation of lithium from natural brines and wastewater, process solutions and wastewater from various industries. The method includes feeding the initial lithium-containing brine into the sorption-desorption enrichment module, which is at least one vertically installed column filled with an inorganic granular sorbent, which is used as a chlorine-containing double hydroxide of aluminum and lithium. After the stage of sorption, the stage of washing the saturated sorbent with a 27% solution of ammonium chloride supplied to the column in a volume equal to 80-150% of the volume of the sorbent in the column, in the direction opposite to the direction of supply of the initial lithium-containing brine, is carried out. Then the stage of desorption of lithium from the sorbent is carried out by supplying demineralized water to obtain a solution enriched with lithium.

EFFECT: invention provides a decrease in lithium losses with a washing solution, an increase in the purity of lithium concentrate.
