SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling the removal of heat or cold of a local distribution system from a distribution network of thermal energy. The method includes determining a base control temperature for removing heat from the local distribution system from the heat distribution network, receiving in the local distribution system a control signal indicating a decrease in the control temperature for removing heat from the local distribution system from the heat distribution network, determining a reduced control temperature for removing heat of the local distribution system from the heat distribution network based on the control signal and the control base temperature.

EFFECT: method further includes determining a return flow temperature of the heating medium in the return line, and, if the determined reduced control temperature is less than the return flow temperature, determining a temporary control temperature greater than the return flow temperature and less than the base control temperature, and controlling the heat removal of the local distribution system from the distribution network based on temporary temperature control.
