SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and is intended for receiving and measuring electromagnetic fields of ultra-low and extremely low frequencies (ULF and ELF) of natural and artificial origin in the marine environment. The electrode sensor of the electric field strength in the sea contains the first and second identical axisymmetric metal electrodes installed in identical dielectric fairings with holes on a flat towed dielectric platform at a distance from each other so that their axes are parallel, as well as an electric motor, while the electrodes are made in the form of metal cylinders installed with the possibility of rotation on metal axes located perpendicular to the direction of towing, the electric motor shaft is mechanically connected to the axes of the electrodes, and the fairings are made in the form of dielectric cylinders, coaxial with the electrodes, the holes in the fairings are located diametrically opposite and are formed by the intersection of the cylindrical wall of the fairing with planes parallel to the axis of the electrode and the plane of the dielectric platform, spaced from the axis by equal distances.

EFFECT: increased sensitivity by more than an order of magnitude by reducing the electrode noise of the sensor movement.
