FIELD: antiseptics.

SUBSTANCE: composition suitable for providing resistance to microbiological effects both in the wet state and in the form of a dry film at a single dose, while the specified composition contains: a) at least 20% by weight water; b) 1 to 12% by weight 1,2-benzisothiazoline-3-one (BIT); c) 2 to 50% by weight 3-iodine-2-propinylbutyl carbamate (IPBC), while a mass ratio of BIT:IPBC ranges from 0.02 to 2; d) at least one thickener / suspending agent in an amount effective to provide a composition with a viscosity of at least 300 centipoises at 25°C; and e) surfactants consisting of at least one alkoxylated С2-8 aliphatic alcohol containing ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units, at least one sulfonate surfactant, and optionally at least one additional non-ionic surfactant that differs from the specified at least one alkoxylated С2-8 aliphatic alcohol containing ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units, and at least one sulfonate surfactant, with a mass ratio of BIT: surfactant ranging from 5:1 to 50:1; while the composition is presented in the form of a stable aqueous dispersion.

EFFECT: need for aqueous dispersions of biocides that will be both chemically and physically stable and that, as a single product, will provide adequate protection of the coating compositions against a wide range of microbiological threats (that is, a single product is needed that, when introduced into the coating composition, simultaneously prevents or slows down the growth of microorganisms both when the coating composition is in a wet state and when it turns into a dry film).
