METHOD FOR MODELING FUNCTIONAL RESPIRATORY DISTURBANCES IN INHALATION SULFURY IPRITIS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2752548 C1

FIELD: experimental medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental medicine, in particular to military toxicology, and can be used for research purposes to model functional respiratory disorders in case of inhalation injury from sulfur mustard gas. To implement the method for modeling, an aerosol of a solution of sulfur mustard with a dispersion of 32.1±2.6 mcm in a volume of 100 mcl per 100 g of rat body weight is injected into anesthetized rats with a body weight of 200±20 g using a microsprayer, and the absorbed dose of sulfur mustard is 1.1 mg/kg. To obtain a solution, sulfur mustard is diluted in a 4% aqueous solution of dimethyl sulfoxide at a concentration of 1.1 mg/ml. An aerosol of sulfur mustard solution is injected intratracheally through the closing glottis, the tip of the microsprayer is inserted into the tracheal bifurcation until it stops. The microsprayer penetration is monitored by visual control of respiratory excursions when the microsprayer piston moves towards itself. Then, mechanical pressure is applied to the piston until the microsprayer is completely empty. The rats are placed in polymethylmethacrylate cases and the quantitative indicators of the external respiration function are recorded for 3 minutes: tidal volume, respiratory rate, respiratory minute volume, peak inhalation/exhalation rate, inhalation/exhalation time at 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14 days from the beginning of rat poisoning.

EFFECT: invention provides a highly reproducible model of local inhalation lesions, repeatable according to the studied parameters of the function of external respiration, which reliably reflects the effect of sulfur mustard.
