METHOD FOR SIMULATING COMBINED EXPOSURE TO DEPLETED URANIUM Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2561295 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: simulating the acute exposure to depleted uranium in anaesthetised rats is ensured by single series administration of various forms of uranium. Uranium is administered as mixed uranium oxide (U3O8) dust into the lungs in an element dose range of 1 to 100 mg 238U/kg of body weight. The intragastric administration of hexavalent uranium salt dissolved in deionised water also follows the element dose range of 1 to 100 mg 238U/kg of body weight. Uranium is also administered as skin applications by immersing an animal's tail by two thirds into uranium solution 0.5 g/l for 10-60 minutes.

EFFECT: method reproduces the acute combined exposure to depleted uranium close to that in humans in military conflicts, as well as living in endemic regions of uranium deposits and storage facilities.
