The developer supply tank 1 includes a gearing section 30 and an outlet section provided with a flap opening 4j for developer release located in the developer placement section. The gearing section 30 is provided only on one side relative to the preset direction that intersects the installation direction of the developer supply tank 1 at the intersection with the offset direction of the developer receiving section 11. The engaging section 30 engages with the section 11b to be engaged during the operation of installing the developer supply tank 1, bringing the receiving hole 11a into communication with the opening 4j of the flap.
