SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of housing and communal services and can be widely used for preliminary sorting of municipal solid waste at the stage of their storage in garbage containers, as well as to carry out remote control over the state of fullness of garbage containers. The method for preliminary sorting of municipal solid waste includes filling a reservoir with municipal solid waste at home, moving this reservoir to a garbage container and unloading the waste into it. In the process of filling the reservoir with municipal solid waste, the process of charging the battery with which the reservoir is supplied from the home power grid is underway. Then, this reservoir is moved to the container, the waste is discharged into the container, the reservoir equipped with a battery is installed in the niche of the container. The niche of the container has electrical contacts through which electricity from the storage battery of the reservoir is supplied to the control and executive bodies of the container, which allow for the processes of preliminary recognition and sorting of waste, in particular the separation of plastic waste, metal and other components, monitoring the filling of the container, transmitting information about the fullness of the container to the service organization, as well as audio and visual communication with the user.

EFFECT: invention provides increased efficiency and quality of waste sorting, which will make it easier to sort them in the future at waste processing plants.
