FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a combustion gas utilisation unit, can be used in the petroleum and gas industry and is intended for utilising non-toxic gases by spraying into the atmosphere without combustion. The unit consists of a flare stack connected by a supply pipeline with the process equipment. A hollow shell is installed at the upper end of the flare stack, connected with an inert gas reservoir by a supply pipeline equipped with safety and bypass valves. A bypass channel with a slide valve is used for periodic feeding of the cavity of the hollow shell with inert gas. The reservoir is connected with the inner cavity of the flare stack by a pipeline and a tube. In the absence of automatic supply of inert gas to the flare stack, in order to extinguish the flame, a bypass line with a slide valve for manual supply of inert gas to the flare stack is provided. The unit allows to automatically extinguish a burning flame by heating inert gas in the hollow shell with transfer of pressure via the supply pipeline to the bypass valve, opening said valve and supplying inert gas to the flare stack to extinguish the flame. When the hollow shell is cooled, the pressure in the supply pipeline decreases leading to the bypass valve closing and the supply of inert gas into the cavity of the flare stack terminating.

EFFECT: combustion gas utilisation unit that can be used in the petroleum and gas industry for utilising non-toxic gases by spraying into the atmosphere without combustion.
