FIELD: working of metal.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of materials by cutting and can be used for grinding, polishing and hardening the surface layer of parts in a freely granulated abrasive medium. The unit is comprised of a frame whereon a drum with a rotation drive and tools for loading and unloading parts are installed. The drum is made in form of a combined rotor and consists of sections assembled from two identical subsections constructed from at least three identical isosceles triangles connected alternately with at least three identical isosceles trapezoids from the condition of forming a small and a large end holes in form of polygons with different amount of sides. Said sections are made and connected so that at least three pairs of opposing polygonal helical lines and at least six polygonal surfaces with a cross-sectional area varying along the length of the rotor are formed along the perimeter of the combined rotor. A wave-like spring is installed inside the rotor along the entire length thereof, providing adjustment of the speed of movement of the treated parts and particles of the working media from loading to unloading.

EFFECT: efficiency of treatment is increased, technological capabilities are expanded.
