FIELD: pet food.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a composition of pet food, for dogs weighing 16 kg or less, and a method for increasing the absorption of amino acids in these dogs. The composition of pet food contains amino acids, including phenylalanine, tyrosine or a combination of phenylalanine and tyrosine, lysine, and probiotic selected from a group consisting of bifidobacteria, enterococci, bacilli, lactobacilli, pediococci, aspergillus, leuconostocci, megaspheres, propionibacteria, saccharomycetes and mixtures thereof, taken in certain amount per 1000 kcal of metabolizable energy (hereinafter – ME). The composition of pet food provides from 2500 to 6000 kcal ME per kg of the composition of pet food per dry substance. A method for increasing the absorption of amino acids in an animal includes the introduction of the above-mentioned composition to it.
EFFECT: use of a group of inventions will increase the absorption of amino acids.
