FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of glycerin to produce water-containing hydrogel for the treatment of wounds. Water-containing hydrogel is obtained by a reaction of (a) prepolymer with terminal amino groups containing polyalkylene oxide links with (b) prepolymer with terminal isocyanate groups containing polyalkylene oxide links. The reaction occurs in the presence of polyatomic alcohol, which is glycerin, and in the presence of water. In terms of the total weight of reagents, the sum of weights of prepolymer with terminal amino groups and prepolymer with terminal isocyanate groups is from 10 to 30 wt.% of the total weight of all reagents. The weight of polyatomic alcohol, which is glycerin, is from 10 to 25 wt.% of the total weight of all reagents. The weight of water used is at least 40 wt.% of the total weight of all reagents. The molar ratio of reactive terminal isocyanate groups to reactive terminal amino groups ranges from 1.0 to 2.0. Hydrogel shows only weak inhibition of a cell growth rate in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10993-5, while weak inhibition means the cell growth rate is from 60 to 79% compared to the control.
EFFECT: production of the improved wound care product that can affect the pathological condition of the wound in such a way that the wound healing process occurs faster in all phases of wound healing, with good compatibility with wound tissue and skin, that leads to favorable adherence of patients to treatment, and that is perceived by patients as pleasant.
