FIELD: working of metal.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electroplating and can be used in mechanical engineering, instrument manufacture, aircraft engineering and other branches of industry for applying protective and decorative coatings on metals and alloys. The method for preparing a solution for chemical nickel plating includes dissolving the components of the solution in water, wherein glycine and then the following inorganic components are sequentially dissolved: nickel salt in the form of nickel sulphate, copper sulphate, lead nitrate, sodium hypophosphite, and ammonia. Nickel salt is introduced in the form of a concentrated solution obtained by adding nickel carbonate to an aqueous solution of nickel salt calculated as 7 g/l, sustaining for 18 to 24 hours, filtering the obtained concentrate through a thick paper or fabric filter and conducting electrochemical processing at a cathodic current density of 0.07 to 0.12 A/dm2 with a corrugated metal cathode and a nickel anode to the passage of 8 to 12 A∙h/l.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the deposition rate of coatings and protective capability thereof due to a reduction in the porosity thereof.
