FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to illumination units applied for illuminating areas of the terrain with uniform non-glare light. The claimed mobile unit for illumination of a terrain area is comprised of a base whereon a light-scattering sealed shell is fixed, on the inner side of the light-scattering sealed shell a flange is attached to the upper part thereof, whereto at least one cartridge with a lamp is attached from the side of the light-scattering sealed shell, and on the opposite side a lug is attached on the flange. A mast for supporting the light-scattering sealed shell is located near the base of the mobile illumination unit, a crossbar with rollers for a power cable is installed on top of the mast, wherein a hook for the lug is attached at the end of said cable. Located at the base of the mobile illumination unit are an electric engine, a compressor configured to pump air into the light-scattering sealed shell, input automatic circuit breakers and an ignition unit, wherein the ignition unit is connected to one input automatic circuit breaker, connected by a wire with at least one lamp cartridge, and the electric engine is connected to the other input automatic circuit breaker, kinematically connected with the compressor. A mast for supporting the light-scattering sealed shell is installed on a separate base, a winch is located on the base of the mast, wherein the other end of the power cable is connected with said winch.

EFFECT: reduced labour consumption of deployment of the illumination unit.
