FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: hand guard contains a clip with opposite inclined surfaces, wedges that are connected to the inclined surfaces, and fasteners that pass through the wedges and opposite sides of the hand guard. Turning the fasteners presses the wedges against the inclined surfaces in order to press the clip and the corresponding clamping element to the barrel and press the hand guard against it. The clamp and wedges prevent the hand guard from turning and provide parallel upward and downward movement. The fastener can pass through the wedge channel without entering into a connection with this wedge channel, while another mount can have a threaded connection with another wedge channel for the same wedge, to ensure horizontal movement of the wedge by turning the fastener.
EFFECT: reduction in the installation time of the hand guard without the use of a vise and tools, the absence of contact with the gas tube, the ability to install on different types of weapons, preventing the rotation or movement of the hand guard and any relevant accessories in relation to the rest of the firearms.
