SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the separation of linear alpha olefins. A method for separating linear alpha olefins includes: passing a feed stream containing linear alpha olefins through a first column; distribution of C8- fraction in the upper part of the first column; distribution of C9+ fraction at the bottom of the first column; feeding the C9+ fraction directly to the bottom of the second column; distribution of the C11+ fraction at the bottom of the second column; removing the C10 fraction in the form of a side draw from the second column and feeding the liquid stream and the vapor stream from the second column to the first column.
EFFECT: reduced load on reboiler and condenser.
