SUBSTANCE: invention relates to database management means implemented in cloud computing environment. The method involves detecting that a database implemented in cloud computing environment is in a non-use state. The method additionally includes, as a result of detecting that the database implemented in cloud computing environment is in a non-use state, creating an instance of the workload in cloud computing environment in order to deactivate the database. The workload is made with the possibility to save metadata for the database and database data remotely in the cloud data storage so that the database can be reactivated later. As a reaction to determining that a new connection was initiated during the specified deactivation, the method involves canceling the deactivation processing flow.

EFFECT: providing the possibility to reliably detect inactivity in user workloads.
