SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to general industrial electric drive and electric drive of vehicles. An electric rotating asynchronous machine contains a divided winding with the number of poles 2p=2, the number of stator slots z1=36 and the number of parallel branches of the stator winding a1=2. It is divided into 2 independent combined windings. Each of them is connected to the power supply network independently of the other winding.

EFFECT: increase in energy efficiency and torque, smooth starts of the machine, in particular heavy and protracted, with the initial supply of power to one of the two independent windings and subsequent connection of the second winding during acceleration without a significant current surge at the time of switching on the second winding; connection or disconnection of one of the independent windings depending on the current load of the machine; use in drives operating with variable load; the possibility of frequent repeated starts of the machine.
