FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: for the time of start-up, serially with three-phase winding of stator of started electric DC motor a three-phase stator winding is connected in a reserve electric motor of a comparable power, rotor of which is slowed down at the same time. Started electric motor is speeded up to rotation speed equal to (0.45-0.5)ωn, where ωn - nominal speed of rotation. Then stator windings of reserve and started electric motors are broken, stator windings of started electric motor are connected as "common star" or "common delta", and it is speeded up to working speed of rotation.

EFFECT: improved reliability of electric motors operation due to reduction of start-up currents multiplication factor.
