FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an apparatus and method for turning a patient unable to move independently. The apparatus for turning a patient is comprised of a reconfigurable support platform containing multiple laterally extending support bars configured to move rotationally around a longitudinally extending central area of the platform. At least one support bar is therein configured to follow the rotational movement of the longitudinally adjacent support bar around the central area within at least a part of the range of rotational movement of the longitudinally adjacent support bar. The apparatus therein also comprises tools made controllable for controlling the rotational movement of at least one support bar of the platform around the central area. The tools made controllable for controlling the rotational movement of at least one support bar of the platform therein comprise an inflatable balloon. The group of inventions also relates to an alternative variant of the apparatus for turning a patient and to a method for turning a patient, implemented using the described apparatuses.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides smooth inclination of the body of the patient and reduces the risk of turnover or fall of the patient from the bed when changing the position of the body.
