SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for protecting weaponry, military equipment and personnel from being hit by dual purpose artillery ammunition. The method for protecting an object from being hit by dual purpose artillery ammunition consists in the fact that bulk-type gabions (BTGs) are placed in front of the protected object in all theatres of military operations in an open terrain in one row along the front and in one or two tiers according to height. Anti-fragmentation and anti-cumulative nets are installed therein and filled with soil. The amount of BTGs is therein determined by the size of the protected object.

EFFECT: increasing the resistance to the impact of a cumulative jet and fragments of artillery ammunition and, therefore, reducing the probability of the protected object being hit.
