METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE RATE OF SEDIMENT FORMATION IN A FLUID Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G01N11/00

Abstract RU 2755623 C1

FIELD: physical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for measuring the rate of sediment formation in a fluid. Essence: at the given initial values of the fluid temperature and pressure, the equilibrium chemical composition of the fluid under study, the chemical composition and the initial solubility of the sediment formed in the fluid when the thermobaric conditions change over a given period of time are determined. On the trajectory of changes in thermobaric conditions, the fluid temperature and pressure values corresponding to the saturation point of the studied fluid along the sediment are determined. The solubility of the sediment at the specified point and the time taken to reach this point are determined. The difference between the solubility of the sediment at the saturation point of the fluid over the sediment and the final solubility of the sediment at the specified final values of the fluid temperature and pressure is determined. At a selected arbitrary pressure, at least one pair of temperature values is determined, for which the difference between the solubility of the sediment at the initial and final temperatures of the pair is equal to the difference between the solubility of the sediment at the point of saturation of the fluid over the sediment and the final solubility of the sediment. In this case, the temperature interval between the initial and final temperature in each pair includes a given final value of the fluid temperature and does not include any points of phase transitions, and the phase state of the fluid at these points coincides with the initial one. At the same selected pressure, sediment-saturated fluids are prepared, the temperature of which corresponds to the initial temperature of each selected pair of temperature values, and the chemical composition corresponds to the equilibrium chemical composition of the studied fluid at the initial temperature of the pair and the selected pressure. At the same selected pressure, the temperature of the prepared fluids is changed to the final temperatures of each selected pair for a time that corresponds to the time of changing the thermobaric conditions from the moment of saturation of the fluid through the sediment to the final values of the fluid temperature and pressure. In the process of changing the temperature of the prepared fluids, the amount of sediment formed is measured. According to the obtained dependences of the amount of sediment formed on time, the rate of sediment formation in the studied fluid is judged in the process of changing the thermobaric conditions.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of obtaining information about the dynamics of sediment formation in any fluid.
