FIELD: nuclear technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of boron-containing radioactive solutions formed in the operation of nuclear power plants (NPP). In order to achieve the described technical result, a method for complete recycling of boric acid used at an NPP for controlling the intensity of a nuclear chain reaction is proposed, including purification of boric acid after use thereof in the heat carrier of the primary circuit of the NPP from radionuclides using sorbents, wherein after using the boric acid in the heat carrier of the primary circuit of the NPP, bypassing purification on ion exchange filters, the boric acid is purified from radionuclides by selective inorganic sorbents, followed by producing a commercial borate product from the obtained radiochemically pure solution of boric acid, and the reduction in the amount of the boron-10 isotope in the heat carrier of the primary circuit is compensated by adding the required amount of new boric acid not previously used at the NPP for controlling the intensity of a nuclear chain reaction.
EFFECT: ensured complete recycling of boric acid after use thereof in the technological processes of the operation of the NPP, namely, in manufacture of commercial borate products therefrom complying with all the criteria for industrially used borate materials.
