FIELD: natural polymer modification.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the modification of a natural polymer of chitosan. A method for modifying chitosan is proposed, which consists in the synthesis of a copolymer containing oxirane fragments in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile and grafting of the copolymer to chitosan; copolymer of glycidyl methacrylate and methacrylate derivative, selected from 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate, 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropyl methacrylate and 2,2,3,3,4,4,4-heptafluorobutyl methacrylate, in methyl ethyl ketone, taken in a molar ratio of monomers equal to 1:2, followed by thermostating of the modified chitosan at 140°С for 1 hour.
EFFECT: increasing hydrophobicity of materials based on chitosan while maintaining their biodegradability and biocompatibility.
