FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary processing of metal surface for obtaining on it hydroxyl groups and its following processing with solution of polymerisation initiator in medium of solvent in presence of triethylamine, and modification in solution, which monomer-containing solution, by means of its graft polymerisation on the surface in presence of catalytic complex, consisting of copper (I) bromide and organic ligand, represented by bipyridine, dinonylbipyridine or pentamethyldiethylenetriamine. Preliminarily processing of metal surface is realised by low pressure plasma, and before processing with initiator solution metal surface is processed with glycidol at 110°C. Processing with initiator solution is carried out in presence of catalyst dimethylaminopyridine, and as polymerisation initiator applied is solution of α-bromoisobutyrylbromide in chloroform, with modification being carried out at 80-110°C with hydrophobic monomer, selected from the series 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate, 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropylmethacrylate, 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10,10-heptadecafluorodecylmethacrylate and laurylmethacrylate.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain on metal surface polymer coating, possessing increased hydrophobic properties.
