FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to creation of a new type of modifier contributing to oxo-biodegradation of low-density polyethylene. Proposed is a method for producing an oxo-biodegradation modifier increasing the rate of degradation of low density polyethylene into oligomers and low molecular weight fragments, including preliminary production of modified montmorillonite in the form of sodium-type montmorillonite nanoclay treated with iron (III) chloride and vinyltrimethoxysilane, followed by mixing the modified montmorillonite with a phenolic-type antioxidant with the chemical formula tetrakismethylene (3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinnamate) methane and a melt of maleinised ethylenevinylacetate with a content of vinyl acetate groups of no less than 28% wt. and maleic groups of no less than 1% wt. Also proposed are an oxo-biodegradation modifier produced by this method and an oxo-biodegradable composition containing the modifier.
EFFECT: acceleration of the oxo-biodegradation process.
