FIELD: nuclear power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nuclear reactor, primarily with a heavy liquid metal coolant based on lead or alloys based on lead and bismuth. The nuclear reactor at the entrance of the core contains a filter 5 with holes 11, 12, located at different heights of the filter 5, for the passage of coolant through them and the capture of impurity particles. The size of the holes 11 does not exceed the characteristic size of the minimum passage section in the core, and the holes 11, 12 are spaced along the height of the filter 5 in such a way that none of the impurity particles can simultaneously block the holes located at different heights. Moreover, the filter contains many cups with bottoms placed essentially perpendicular to the first plate and protruding from the first plate with bottoms down the coolant flow, and holes are made in the bottoms.
EFFECT: an increase in the degree of purification of the coolant from particles with an insignificant decrease in the level of natural circulation of the coolant.
