FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry and can be used in the field of ecology and environmental protection. The method for determining mass concentrations of heavy metals in soil by the method for mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma includes pre-grinding and homogenising the assay, then subjecting the assay to decomposition by the method for microwave mineralisation using a combination of hydrochloric and nitric acids, filtering the assay upon completion of decomposition, wherein the soil assay is prepared by the method for cryogrinding of the mass using solid carbon dioxide as a cooling agent by means of a cutter, the soil assay is then placed in a fluoroplastic reaction vessel of the microwave mineralisation unit, concentrated nitric acid is introduced, the vessel with the assay is placed and sustained for 15 minutes in an ultrasonic bath followed by adding concentrated hydrochloric acid, wherein the ratio of nitric and hydrochloric acids is 1:1, respectively, the vessel is then closed and placed in the chamber of the microwave assay preparation system, upon completion of the process the vessel is cooled in a closed state, the cooled vessel is placed in an exhaust hood, set on an orbital laboratory shaker and held for 10 minutes until termination of visible nitrogen oxide emission and discoloration of the mineralising agent solution, the assay is then evaporated by means of an infrared heating system, then quantitatively transferred with deionised water into a polypropylene vial at 50 cm3 and filtered through a teflon filter with a pore size of 1 mcm, the resulting assay is analysed by the method for mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma.

EFFECT: simplification of the assay preparation procedure.
