SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for determining forms of arsenic in laminaria thallus, in which for 90 minutes at 95 °C Laminaria thallus is extracted with solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide, then cooled to room temperature extract is separated from solid particles, the obtained supernatant is separated by solid-phase extraction into fraction A containing organic arsenic (oAs) and fraction B containing inorganic arsenic (iAs), iAs and oAs are quantified by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, where solid-phase extraction is carried out by elution through cartridge using 0.4M nitric acid solution for fraction B and 3% hydrogen peroxide solution for fraction A, without a supernatant neutralization step.

EFFECT: invention provides optimization of procedure for separation of arsenic-containing compounds present in laminaria thallus into organic and inorganic forms, high measurement accuracy, reduced range of used reagents and elimination of limitations associated with working with precursors of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
