FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to narcology, and reveals a method for predicting the duration of therapeutic remission in patients with alcoholism. The method involves determining the concentration of carbonylated proteins (CP) and TBA-reactive products (TBA-RP) in the blood plasma of patients upon admission to the hospital after alcohol detoxification before prescribing anti-alcohol treatment. At a concentration of CP at 0.44 nmol/mg and higher, TBA-RP 3.64 nmol/ml and higher, the formation of unstable remission is predicted up to 6 months after therapy.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to predict the duration of therapeutic remission in patients with alcoholism using objective indicators of oxidative stress factors and can be used in practical healthcare to prevent relapse of the disease and prolong the state of remission in patients with alcoholism.
