FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermal treatment of low-rigidity long-length axisymmetric parts in a shaft furnace and can be used for cooling such parts. The unit is comprised of body sections configured for said part to be placed in between, nozzles installed on the walls of the sections with a possibility of uniform blowing of the cooled part, connected with an air pump via controlled throttle valves, and a control unit connected with the controlled throttle valves, wherein the unit is equipped with a longitudinal oscillation vibrator equipped with a gripping mechanism with a spherical stop for installing and fixing the cooled part in a vertical position with the lower end thereof, and a thermal imagery apparatus configured to control the temperature of the part and connected with the input of the control unit via a converter. The invention also relates to a method for cooling including the use of said unit.

EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to increase the quality of the manufactured parts, as well as the precision of dimensions and shape thereof.
