FIELD: lubrication systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a lubrication system of an internal combustion engine. A method for evaluating the lubrication of friction components rubbing against each other of plant (3) lubricated using lubricant circuit (5), in particular, an internal combustion engine or an automatic transmission, wherein pump (9) for supplying lubricant in lubricant circuit (5) is driven by a drive engine forming this plant or by drive engine (3) driving this plant. According to the invention, device (19) for determining the pressure is provided, by means of which, during the engine start, the pressure of the lubricant is continuously determined in at least one set area of lubricant circuit (5), wherein a device is also provided for determining a path by which at several points in a “pressure-time” diagram, in each of which the pressure of the lubricant set by the device for determining the pressure exceeds set limit value (p1, p2, p3) of the pressure, the relative path between friction components is determined and/or evaluated from the beginning of the engine start process, and wherein device (17) for evaluating the results is provided, with the help of which, according to the sum of values of the relative path determined at points on the “pressure-time” diagram (φ1, φ2, φ3), an estimated value is set that evaluates the increase in the pressure of the lubricant during the engine start process.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the accuracy of lubrication of friction components during the engine start process.
