FIELD: clothes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hoods for articles of clothing such as jackets, parkas, windbreakers, overalls, sweaters, athletic wear, etc. A hood for an article of clothing containing a part covering the torso of the potential user. The part covering the torso comprises a back section containing no less than two side parts forming an intermediate space for packing the flattened hood. The hood assembled with the article of clothing comprises one or several side parts made of a draped sheet material. The hood has a main part with one or several edges along the perimeter, defining a facial area designed not to cover a given part of the face of the potential user. The hood has an upper section with a back section and side sections extending downwards. The hood is capable of being flattened without folding, rolling, bending, crumpling, etc., thus the length or width thereof does not decrease relative to the length or width in the intended worn state, or overlapping of materials in the flattened state is primarily prevented. The side parts have an opening in the intermediate space for placement of the hood, intended for placement and packing of the hood in the flattened state.

EFFECT: claimed invention is aimed at providing a flat packing of the hood without increasing the volume and without altering the appearance of the article of clothing.
