FIELD: testing.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an apparatus for eliminating defects of a tape material on production lines. The apparatus relates to identification of defective sections of the web/tape material and rejection of defective prior to entering the subsequent processes of the production line, such as manufacture of bags. The apparatus for monitoring defects comprises a defect detection unit and a defect monitoring control unit monitoring the condition of defects on the moving tape material. The section containing the defect of the tape material, subject to cutting, is identified. The defect monitoring control unit is also connected with the control unit of the production line in order to selectively control the cutting unit cutting the tape material into pieces. Also disclosed is a method for eliminating defects in a tape material, including the stages of detecting defects in the tape material, identifying a piece/section of the tape material containing a defect, and removing said piece/section from the production line.
