SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology. To identify and monitor non-technical losses of electricity in the electrical network, the current and voltage vectors are measured with the head metering device and metering devices for all subscribers. On the basis of the measurements performed, the complex values of the currents in the phases of the main sections of the distribution network that feed its last subscribers are calculated. The fact and value of uncontrolled electricity consumption is determined by comparing the calculated currents in the phases of the main sections of the distribution network with the actual complex values of the currents measured by the metering devices of the last subscribers of the controlled section of the network. To monitor non-technical losses of electricity, an operational calculation of the complex resistances of the interpersonal network sections in the absence of currents of uncontrolled electricity consumption is organized on the basis of data from two different modes of operation. Uncontrolled electricity consumption is detected by analyzing the complex impedances of the interpersonal network sections, which will differ from the actual ones found earlier in the absence of uncontrolled consumption.
