SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. A method for pre-sowing treatment of spring barley seeds, which are intended for cultivation on gray forest soils, is proposed. The seeds of spring barley of the "Katy" variety are used as a seed, and the seeds are treated by soaking them in a suspension containing ultrafine powders of copper and copper oxide with a particle size of 40-60 nm for 30 minutes. The suspension is prepared at a dosage of 0.01 g of copper and copper oxide nanoparticles per hectare seeding rate at the rate of 55 grains per 1 running meter.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in the energy of germination, germination and morphological parameters of barley seedlings.
